Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a specialist setting in Leeds to recruit a Challenging Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs. You will help manage challenging behaviour and foster engagement, providing consistent support throughout the school day.

The role offers short and long-term placements with both full-time and part-time hours. Pay is £100-£120 per day on a PAYE basis, with CPD courses, 24/7 consultant support and a staff referral scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Experience working in an education, SEND or alternative provision setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist setting in Leeds supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a supportive environment where students are encouraged to develop their confidence, engagement and positive relationships.

The setting is looking for a Challenging Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant for short and long-term opportunities, with both full-time and part-time work available. The successful Challenging Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant will support students with SEMH needs, helping to manage challenging behaviour, encourage engagement with learning and provide consistent support throughout the school day.

The successful Challenging Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Experience working within an education, SEND or alternative provision setting
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with students
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
