Job summary

TeacherActive are supporting a Pupil Referral Unit in Carmarthen for a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant role. The position is temporary with potential to go permanent, offering long-term job security and a daily rate of £85.50–£90.00.

The ideal candidate will support students with SEMH and behavioural challenges, building trust and providing emotional support to help re-engage with education. A patient, empathetic and proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable.
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • Passion for helping students achieve their full potential—academically and personally.

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Carmarthern that supports young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), Autism and challenging behaviour.
