Job summary

Dementia UK's Challenge Events team is looking for a Challenge Events Assistant to help coordinate the daily activities and provide essential administrative support, ensuring excellent supporter experiences. You will act as the first point of contact for supporters, respond to enquiries, and assist on event days in London, with hybrid working two days a week in Aldgate.

Job description

Dementia UK’s Mass Participation team are looking for a Challenge Events assistant to join their ambitious team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Challenge Events Team where you will help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team, providing crucial administrative support and helping to deliver excellent supporter experiences.

As a Challenge Events Assistant, you will act as the first point of contact for challenge event supporters, responding to enquiries within agreed timeframes and ensuring excellent stewardship through email, SMS and phone, to motivate, recognise, and reward supporters to encourage their long‑term support. You will also attend in‑person on event days, thanking our supporters for their fundraising.

You will be responsible for coordinating fundraising resources, preparing fundraising materials ahead of race day events, and ensuring that post‑campaign data is utilised efficiently to thank supporters. You will oversee administrative processes for the team including data entry, monitoring new supporters and updating projects plans.

You will have experience of building positive relationships and customer service expertise, as well as an understanding of using databases and Office 365. Additionally, we are looking for someone with excellent communication, organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise your workload.

This role is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Location: hybrid working, two days per week in our Aldgate, London office
