Job summary

The Graduate Project is seeking an experienced Community and Events Manager to lead an established programme of challenge events and supporter-led fundraising activity, delivering campaigns that generate sustainable income and create outstanding experiences from first contact through to post-event stewardship.

You will work with colleagues across Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, Digital and external partners to manage the full lifecycle of the portfolio, planning, delivery, evaluation

Location: Hybrid, London: three days office-based and two days from home

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Start date: Mid to late September, and no later than 1 October

We are looking for a proactive and well-organised Community and Events Manager to take ownership of an established programme of challenge events and supporter-led fundraising activity. You will deliver successful campaigns that generate sustainable income, strengthen supporter relationships and create excellent experiences from first contact through to post-event stewardship.

The role

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Marketing & Communications, Digital and external partners, you will manage the full lifecycle of a varied community and events portfolio. You will ensure activity is well planned, professionally delivered, achieves income targets and provides supporters with an outstanding experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of flagship challenge events and fundraising campaigns.
• Managing a varied calendar of community fundraising and third-party events activity.
• Recruiting, engaging and stewarding participants through a range of marketing and digital channels.
• Building strong relationships with supporters, volunteers, patient groups, community organisations and external suppliers.
• Identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities to grow income and engagement.
• Monitoring income, participation and campaign performance against agreed targets.
• Managing event budgets, timelines, logistics and post-event reporting.
• Working collaboratively across teams to maximise fundraising and supporter engagement opportunities.

About you

You will be an experienced community and events professional with a strong record of delivering income growth, managing successful campaigns and building lasting supporter relationships.

You will bring:

• Significant experience in community and events fundraising, including achievement of income targets.
• Experience managing complex fundraising projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
• Excellent supporter stewardship and relationship-management skills.
• Experience promoting fundraising activity to both existing and new supporters across multiple channels.
• Strong organisational, analytical and project-management skills.
• Experience using supporter databases or fundraising CRM systems, such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A genuine passion for the charity’s mission and the difference it makes.
