Job summary

The Climbing Hangar Plymouth is seeking a Deputy General Manager to lead day-to-day operations across reception, retail, coaching and cafe, while driving membership sales and delivering exceptional customer service.

You will supervise teams, foster a welcoming community for climbers of all ages, ensure health and safety standards, and collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Finance and People teams.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or managerial experience leading successful teams in customer-focused environments.
• Experience in hospitality, leisure, retail, fitness or similar sectors.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Champion a welcoming, inclusive, customer-focused environment.
• Support staff in achieving membership sales, retention and loyalty.
• Create an exceptional customer experience for climbers of all ages and abilities.
• Build relationships within the local climbing community.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across reception, retail, coaching and café.
• Ensure high standards of health, safety and safeguarding.
• Support events, competitions and community initiatives.
• Work with teams across Operations, Marketing, Finance and People.
