Job summary

The Education Authority NI invites applications for a Centre Based Youth Worker I based at Millgreen Youth Centre, Newtownabbey. This full-time post (36 hours per week) involves delivering youth work across 10 sessions weekly, including evenings, with a focus on youth engagement and programme delivery in line with EA policies.

You will work with young people to assess needs, develop action plans, and promote inter-community activities while ensuring sound administration and supervising part-time

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Youth Worker in accordance with the JNC Report for Youth Workers, Paragraph 5.
• Minimum of one year’s experience as a Youth Worker.
• Demonstrable working knowledge of information technology systems including Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a range of services within the designated area.
• Work directly with young people by assessing their needs and providing an agreed programme of activities.
• Promote and develop inter-community activities and outreach within the area.
• Provide support to staff and volunteers; manage administration and financial matters.
