Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Senior Youth Worker 1 (Specialism - Local) to manage youth work programmes across a designated area and lead staff and volunteers in line with EA policies.

The role involves developing initiatives, ensuring active participation of young people, and working with advisory committees to achieve project objectives. A vehicle is required or alternative transport arrangements must be provided.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Youth Worker in accordance with the JNC Report for Youth Workers.
• Evidence of designing, delivering and evaluating youth work training.
• Demonstrable knowledge of information technology systems including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience of managing youth work staff and youth centres/projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop youth work services in the designated area.
• Lead and develop staff and volunteers and supervise project staff.
• Develop annual action plans and contribute to area and strategic plans.
• Build partnerships with agencies and contribute to project fundraising.
