Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Youth Support Worker to develop and deliver engaging programmes for young people. The post involves leading a team of part-time staff and volunteers, safeguarding welfare, and promoting youth participation within the project.

You will work under the Management Committee and align activities with the Model for Effective Practice, while developing partnerships with the wider community and external agencies to maximise impact.

Qualifications

• IT knowledge of information systems including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Experience or willingness to undertake job-related training as required.
• Essential criteria include NI Youth Work Curriculum, risk management for welfare of young people and DoE Child Protection regulations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and deliver a youth work programme in the designated area.
• Lead and support a team of part-time workers and volunteers.
• Promote youth participation and active citizenship among young people.
• Build relationships with the community and external agencies.
• Support young people to express goals and work in groups.
