Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Medical Secretary in the Cellular Pathology department. The role supports consultants, junior medical staff and laboratory personnel, handling typing of letters and comprehensive histology and cytology reports with macroscopic and microscopic descriptions.

The post involves processing NHS and private patient reports, adding SNOMED codes, and ensuring timely circulation of documents.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Typing letters and reports with accuracy is required.

Responsibilities

• Typing of letters, second opinions, and histology/cytology reports including macroscopic, microscopic and diagnostic descriptions.
• Circulation of reports such as Coroner’s and Hospital post mortem documents.
• Add SNOMED codes to reports and process NHS and Private Patient reports.
• Support consultants, junior medical staff and laboratory personnel for a timely service.
