Job summary

Relation is seeking a Research Assistant with a Cell Biology background to join an established team running perturbation screens for novel targets. You will work at the intersection of biology and technology within a rapidly growing TechBio company in London.

You will design and execute cellular assays, maintain cell lines, analyse data and communicate results to the project team. This role offers hands-on scientific discovery in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Biological Science.
• Wet-lab experience in academic, biotech, pharma or CRO settings.
• Strong cell culture experience including maintenance and generation.
• Experience running arrayed genetic perturbation screens using CRISPR.
• Ability to run cell/molecular assays and characterise phenotypes (nucleic acids, flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, ELISA).
• Data handling, curve-fitting and basic statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute cellular and biochemical assays to support projects.
• Grow and maintain mammalian cell lines and track samples with QC.
• Manage reagent stocks, equipment maintenance and lab upkeep.
• Perform data analysis and QA during protocols.
• Communicate outcomes to project team and wider company in reports.
• Identify potential project concerns and escalate to senior team.
• Contribute to ideas on new technologies and workflows.
• Collaborate with biological and computational teams to solve challenges.
