Job summary

University of Dundee invites applications for a Research Assistant or Technician to join Professor Adrian Saurin's lab in the Department of Genome Integrity. This is a fixed-term appointment for 24 months and focuses on developing a chemical-genetic system to inhibit cyclin-substrate interactions.

The successful candidate will use CRISPR/Cas9 to engineer knock-in cell lines, perform live and fixed-cell imaging to quantify cell cycle progression, prepare samples for (phospho)proteomic analysis,

• Strong scientific background in cell biology with relevant experience in cell cycle research.

Responsibilities

• Using CRISPR/Cas9 to genetically engineer knock-in cell lines targeting different cyclins.
• Performing live and fixed cell imaging to quantify cell cycle progression.
• Performing sample preparation for (phospho)proteomic analysis.
• Working effectively as part of a team and supporting the work of a postdoctoral researcher.
