Job summary

AECOM have an exciting opportunity for a CDM Principal Designer to join our Environment & Energy SH&E Team. This role can be based at any main office in the UK, including Manchester, Basingstoke, Glasgow, Cambridge and Bristol.

The CDM Principal Designer will collaborate with our GGP CDM Lead to provide guidance and CDM knowledge across projects, reinforcing health, safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Design / engineering degree.
• Experience in Overhead lines and HV projects.
• Member of the Association of Project Safety.
• NEBOSH National or General Certificate, or similar health and safety qualification.
• Experience in delivering the Principal Designer role, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of duties under CDM on energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Be a Safety Champion: advocate for health, safety and the environment and foster a mature safety culture.
• Proactive: lead pre-construction phase, manage risk, improve communication and transition from design to construction.
• Deliver Excellence: ensure value in every task, strive to improve methods and results.
• Provide CDM Support, Advice & Guidance: counsel energy project staff and clients on CDM duties.
• One Team: collaborate with colleagues and managers to achieve goals.
• Management Systems Implementation: ensure procedures are followed to strengthen safety culture.
• SH&E Promotion: support Safety for Life and Life Preserving Principles to foster a safe workplace.
