Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a CDM Principal Designer to join its Health & Safety team in Birmingham. You will manage a portfolio of projects and work with clients, designers and contractors across pre-construction and construction phases.

The role requires delivery of Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015, strong communication, and a track record of working on commercial schemes. Hybrid working and progression are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience delivering CDM / Principal Designer services.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015.
• Experience working on commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015.
• Advising clients on their responsibilities under the CDM Regulations.
• Reviewing design information and identifying foreseeable risks.
• Providing practical design risk management advice to Architects and Engineers.
• Preparing and reviewing Pre-Construction Information.
• Attending design team and client meetings.
• Undertaking construction site Health & Safety inspections.
• Preparing Health & Safety Files.
• Supporting clients and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Contributing towards the continued growth of the Principal Designer service.

An independent and employee-focused property consultancy is looking to appoint a CDM Principal Designer to join their growing Health & Safety team in Birmingham.

The successful CDM Principal Designer will work alongside an experienced team of construction and property professionals, providing Principal Designer services across an impressive portfolio of commercial property projects throughout Birmingham and the wider Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CDM Principal Designer who wants to join a consultancy that offers genuine progression, a supportive working environment and exposure to a variety of commercial, residential, retail and industrial projects.

The CDM Principal Designer Role

The successful CDM Principal Designer will manage their own portfolio of projects while working closely with clients, designers and contractors throughout the pre-construction and construction phases.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015
• Advising clients on their responsibilities under the CDM Regulations

The Successful CDM Principal Designer

The successful CDM Principal Designer will ideally have:

• 2+ years' experience delivering CDM / Principal Designer services
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015
• Experience working on commercial construction projects
• APS and/or IOSH membership would be beneficial
• A construction, design or Health & Safety qualification
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence
