Job Description for Security CCTV Operator
Location: Liverpool
We are seeking a dedicated Security CCTV Operator to monitor an outdoor shopping and leisure park. The role involves ensuring the safety of premises, personnel, and visitors through vigilant CCTV surveillance and effective security procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor multiple screens in a control centre to oversee various locations within the park.
- Identify suspicious behaviour by observing body language and expressions.
- Track suspects' movements within the area or inside buildings.
- Operate remote-control devices to adjust camera angles for better imaging.
- Coordinate with police or security staff, providing intelligence on suspects, including location, actions, and appearance.
- Manage the storage, editing, and labelling of recordings for easy retrieval.
- Collaborate with law enforcement by providing recordings or copies as needed.
- Ensure CCTV systems are functioning correctly, recording, and storing footage properly.
- Maintain incident logs to assist police investigations.
- Conduct hourly check calls and monitor access to delivery service areas remotely.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Report hazards or concerns following site guidelines.
- Monitor and authorize entry and exit to prevent theft and ensure security.
- Contact emergency services when necessary, such as in cases of fire, unauthorized access, injuries, theft, or environmental hazards.
- Assist with first aid requirements, including potential defibrillator use.
- Patrol the site to preserve order and protect property.
- Enforce site rules, warn violators, and handle evictions if required.
- Manage access control and CCTV patrols as part of the control room duties.
- Contribute to team efforts to uphold the centre’s standards and participate in emergency procedures.
- Report health and safety hazards and assist in risk management.
- Maintain positive relations with retailers and collaborate with other teams to enhance site operations.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SIA Licence and CCTV Licence.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Customer Service training (e.g., World Host or similar).
- Experience in CCTV control room operations, preferably within retail or similar environments.
- Basic IT skills with attention to detail and good report-writing abilities.
