Job summary

West Suffolk Council is seeking a CCTV Operator to manage over 900 cameras from the control room in Bury St Edmunds. You will monitor alarms, respond to incidents, and help reduce crime while adhering to relevant regulations.

The role requires flexible shift patterns (4 on/4 off), with training provided. Police vetting is required; ideally you will hold a CCTV SIA licence. Full-time, permanent contract with benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will ideally be CCTV SIA licensed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team on a rolling four on, four off shift rota including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate CCTV cameras and alarms across the control room.
• Provide reactive and proactive CCTV monitoring to support crime reduction objectives.
• Comply with CCTV code of practice and control room procedures.
