Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Catering Supervisor to lead a busy hospital catering team. You will supervise staff, ensure smooth daily operations, and maintain high standards of hygiene and service in patient and retail areas.

You will coordinate rosters, train staff in hygienic practices, and liaise with departments to meet patient needs. A healthcare catering background and food hygiene certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal food hygiene certificates required or desirable.
• Experience supervising catering staff in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in catering.

Responsibilities

• Lead the catering team, provide direction and support to staff.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and service users about catering needs.
• Coordinate production of snacks and food service for patients and retail.
• Supervise cleaning and maintain hygiene standards across areas.
• Prepare staff rotas and participate in recruitment/selection for Band 2.
