Job description

As a Catering Supervisor at HMPPS Newbold Revel Catering College

Your role will involve hands-on supervision of your catering teams, daily engagement with staff and clients, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for everyone you encounter.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out safety walks, conversations, and supervise safety standards across your area of responsibility, ensuring that our people and customers are always kept safe, whilst ensuring the site folder is up to date with all new and relevant policies.
• Play an active part in the frontline team recruitment process.
• Deliver all mandatory training within a given timeline and support additional training needs for the front-line teams.
• Ensure effective force management with full coverage, monitor attendance/absence, and follow policies and procedures around triggers and absence management.
• Maintain accurate staff records and handle HR issues appropriately, in accordance with legislation and company policy.
• Conduct safety management system audits, such as monthly or quarterly food safety audits.
• Act as the first point of contact to address any issues on site from clients or customers promptly.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks and/or instructions as directed by your line manager.

What you bring:

• Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of catering, allergens, basic cooking skills, and some team leadership experience.
• Level 3 in Food Safety or equivalent qualifications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work at a fast pace and adapt to change when needed.
• Be a team player and able to take instructions.
