Job summary

Gordonstoun School is seeking a Storekeeper / Catering Stores Assistant to join a friendly, award-winning catering team on site in Scotland. You will manage all catering stores, perform stock checks and coordinate orders with the Head Chef, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and timely support for events.

The role offers a supportive environment with a two-week rota, no split shifts, and immediate start for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT and administrative skills.
• Experience in stock control, stores management, catering or hospitality is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain all catering stores, ensuring stock is organised, stored and rotated.
• Conduct regular stock checks and inventory counts.
• Order food, beverages and consumables with Head Chef and Catering Management Team.
• Monitor deliveries, check goods received and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Manage catering-related emails and respond to enquiries promptly.
• Prepare and distribute stock, equipment and supplies for daily operation.
• Assist with hospitality events, functions and special occasions.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, stock control and administrative records.
• Work closely with chefs, catering staff and suppliers to run the operation efficiently.
