Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting experienced Catering specialists and lecturers for Further Education providers across Newport. Roles include teaching practical sessions and theory, with opportunities in full-time, part-time and flexible arrangements.

Open to those with strong industry background; teaching experience is desirable but not essential. You will work with learners, support SEN/ALN learners, and help prepare them for employment or further study in the FE sector.

Qualifications

• Strong industry experience in catering or hospitality.
• Ability to deliver practical and theory-based sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEN/ALN is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based catering sessions.
• Demonstrate professional culinary techniques and standards.
• Support learners working towards vocational qualifications.
• Teach food preparation, cooking and kitchen practices.
• Promote high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Assess practical work and monitor learner progress.
• Prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships or further study.
• Support learners with SEN/ALN where needed.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.

The Role

Are you an experienced Catering specialist looking to move into Further Education, or an established Catering Lecturer looking for your next opportunity?

Aspire People are working in partnership with Further Education providers across Newport to recruit experienced Catering specialists and lecturers.

You don't necessarily need to have worked as a Lecturer previously. If you have strong industry experience, relevant qualifications and the ability to support and inspire learners, we'd love to hear from you.

• Delivering engaging practical and theory-based Catering sessions
• Demonstrating professional culinary techniques and standard

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 qualification in Catering, Hospitality or a relevant discipline
• Strong professional experience within Catering/Hospitality
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and professional kitchen standards
• Strong practical skills and up-to-date industry knowledge
• Ability to demonstrate techniques and engage learners
• Experience supporting learners, apprentices or trainees is desirable
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Teaching or training experience is desirable but not essential
• Experience working with learners with SEN/ALN is beneficial
