Job summary

KIMS Hospital Ltd is seeking a Catering & Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the Guest Services teams, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, catering and customer care for patients, visitors and colleagues. You will assist the Guest Services Lead in daily operations, staffing, training and resource provision to maintain exceptional service.

Relevant supervisory experience in healthcare or hospitality, with training in Food Safety, COSHH and Health & Safety, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Supervisory role within catering/housekeeping or healthcare settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of handling patient-focused service.
• Willingness to train and comply with hospital policies and standards.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Catering or Housekeeping Supervisor who takes pride in delivering high standards? Do you enjoy leading a team and making sure every detail is right? Are you passionate about creating an excellent experience for patients, visitors and colleagues? If so, we could have the perfect opportunity for you at KIMS Hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Catering & Housekeeping Supervisor to join our Guest Services team. This is a key role in ensuring our patients and visitors receive consistently high standards of cleanliness, catering and customer service throughout their time at KIMS. You will support the Guest Services Lead in the day-to-day running of the Catering and Housekeeping departments, ensuring the team is appropriately staffed, trained and equipped to deliver an exceptional service. You will be a visible and supportive supervisor, leading by example and ensuring our standards are maintained across the hospital.

What will you be responsible for?

• Supervising and supporting the Catering and Housekeeping teams, including daily briefings, allocating work, managing rotas and ensuring staff have the training and resources required to deliver their roles effectively.
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and catering, carrying out regular inspections, monitoring cleaning and temperature schedules and taking corrective action where required.
• Delivering an outstanding patient and visitor experience, ensuring food and drinks are prepared and served to the required standards and patient dietary requirements are met.
• Supporting quality, safety and compliance, including infection prevention and control, Health & Safety, COSHH, manual handling, food safety and hospital policies and procedures.
• Responding confidently to day-to-day challenges, resolving issues within the team, responding to requests and concerns, managing complaints appropriately and escalating matters when necessary. Take reassurance from knowing that your interviewer can often be as nervous as you. Be polite, honest and open, maintaining eye contact with them. Talk as clearly and confidently as you can and if you don't understand a question, ask for clarification. When answering, focus on positive experiences and be prepared to go into detail about your previous positions and your future aspirations.
• Previous supervisory experience within Housekeeping and/or Catering.
• Excellent verbal communication and customer care skills.
• A flexible, enthusiastic and reliable approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable criteria

• Previous supervisory experience within a similar healthcare, hospitality or service environment.
• Training or qualifications in areas such as Food Safety Level 3, COSHH, Health & Safety or Manual Handling.
