Job summary

We are seeking a friendly General Assistant to join BaxterStorey in Coventry, United Kingdom. You will support day-to-day hospitality operations, assisting with food and beverage service, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service for students, staff and visitors.

The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with a permanent contract and a starting wage of £13.45 per hour. On-shift meals, training and development opportunities are available within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering, food service or customer-facing environment is desirable but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices; Level 1 Food Safety Certificate is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible to work weekends and evenings if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages, maintaining high hygiene standards.
• Support hospitality services to create a welcoming environment for customers and visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, dining and service areas.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient operations across all areas.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Undertake various administrative tasks to support smooth operations.
• Assist with stock management and event set-up/breakdown as needed.
