Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking General Assistants to support kitchen operations across shifts including 4 night shifts and a day shift. The role involves food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, receiving deliveries, serving customers, and topping up vending services. Right to work in the UK is required and basic catering qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Overtime is paid at time and a half. The position offers £14.79 per hour with shift patterns described as five days out of seven,

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Good time-management and organisational abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Right to work in the UK safeguards compliance.
• Cash handling experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks (peeling, chopping, trimming, sandwiches/salads).
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment; clean utensils and catering stations.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries; organise storage.
• Serve food items to customers; host/waiter duties at events when needed.
• Top up vending services.
