Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Swindon is recruiting a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service while meeting standards and cleaning schedules.

This permanent role runs 2.30pm to 7.30pm, Monday to Thursday, at B&Q DC Swindon. Pay is £12.74 per hour.

You will prepare dining areas, serve meals, clean catering spaces, handle cash tasks, and work with customers and colleagues to ensure smooth operation, while following health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Catering experience in similar environment is desirable.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented with strong time management.

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
