Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Carlisle is seeking a Cleaner to deliver high service standards and adhere to cleaning schedules. The role is permanent, full-time, paying £12.71 per hour with a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri, 6am-2pm) at McVitie's, Carlisle.

You will perform routine and deep cleaning, maintain hygiene records and support production teams to meet targets while following food safety and COSHH requirements. Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

• Complete cleaning tasks in line with Cleaning Work Instructions and site procedures.
• Perform deep cleans, strip-down cleans and post-production cleaning activities.
• Ensure all equipment and work areas are left hygienic, safe and ready for production.
• Follow strict food safety, hygiene and contamination control procedures.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment and PPE in accordance with training and COSHH requirements.
• Report defects, hazards, contamination risks and equipment damage.
• Complete cleaning records and hygiene documentation accurately.
• Support audit readiness and maintain high standards across the site.
• Work closely with supervisors, production teams and colleagues to achieve operational targets.
