Bath College seeks a dedicated Catering Assistant to support daily catering operations at the Somer Valley Campus in Radstock, with occasional work at the Bath City Centre Campus. The role is a permanent, 30 hours per week contract for 42 weeks per year, pro-rated from the posted full-time salary.

DBS checks and safeguarding responsibilities apply. Responsibilities include general kitchen duties, serving food and beverages, and assisting with laundry and hospitality functions across campuses.

Permanent contract

30 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm with 30 minutes for lunch (these hours can be slightly be flexible)

42 weeks per year

Posted salary is full time equivalent - Actual salary for 30 hours per week for 42 weeks per year is £20,031.35

The role is predominantly based at our Somer Valley Campus in Radstock; however, there will be occasions when you will be required to work at our City Centre Campus in Bath.

Purpose of the job:

To be responsible for providing general kitchen duties and serving of food and beverages, to ensure the effective and efficient operation of college catering services.

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of the Catering Team

• Work with members of the catering team to ensure good standards of service are met for all clients.
• Assist in ensuring good customer service for all staff and students

To assist in the kitchens, counters, laundry, and other associated areas:

• General food preparation and cooking.
• Washing up and general cleaning within the department.
• Ensure all items are packaged, labelled with the correct allergen and date information.
• To assist with the hospitality functions throughout the campus.
• Assist with laundry duties if required.
