Great opportunities to join a growing procurement function in an innovative food business as a Category Procurement Manager.

My client is a leading player in its sector, working with some of the UK’s leading brands and organisations, supplying a premium service and innovative products. Due to growth, they are now looking to expand their successful procurement team across the food category.

Joining as a Category Purchasing Manager, you will work across a diverse range of food products. This is a fast-paced role requiring experience in managing and influencing senior stakeholders, with a strong track record of delivering savings within a high-spend environment.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Interact with key stakeholders and analyze data to develop category management strategies.
2. Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across the group of companies.
3. Drive and implement best practice procurement processes and enhance operational stakeholder engagement.
4. Advise and agree on procurement strategies with senior stakeholders for high-spend categories.
5. Achieve measurable savings through hands-on category management, including tenders, negotiations, and auctions.
6. Utilize leading-edge tools, processes, and creative thinking to design solutions that deliver rapid cost savings and performance improvements.
7. Sourcing suppliers from the UK and worldwide to meet business needs.
8. Collaborate with stakeholders to create category management approaches aligned with business objectives.
9. Deliver projects within specified timescales.

You should be degree-educated with extensive blue-chip experience in food buying. Excellent negotiation skills and a natural persuasive ability are essential. We seek proactive, positive individuals who enjoy networking and building new relationships.
