Role Purpose
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies that leverage GKN Aerospace’s spend to deliver significant annual improvements in cost and service levels.
  • Implement & manage corporate contracts at regional & global reach for GKN Aerospace.
  • Coordinate implementation of contracts through the P2P function at sites and manage compliance.
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholder teams to identify business needs and implement contracts that support business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a trusted business partner supporting Category’s internal customers to fulfill their strategic requirements (cost, performance, quality, sustainability).
  • Be accountable for the delivery of targeted savings by business line and/or central function to improve bottom line profitability.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for Commodity procurement for Professional Services (to be documented and published to stakeholders).
  • Lead stakeholder teams across multiple countries to improve contracts for GKN Aerospace.
  • Communicate and gain buy-in/support for commodity strategies across all levels of GKN Aerospace.
  • Provide analysis & information to senior management on plans and benefits of actions.
  • Negotiate with senior supplier representatives to deliver benefits to the business.
  • Develop a consistent approach/strategy to indirect commodities.
  • Establish data-driven analysis of procurement opportunities.
  • Manage Requests for Proposal / Auction activities within commodities.
  • Monitor contract compliance and take remedial actions as needed.
  • Develop commodity budgets / forecasts and liaise with sites to embed locally.
  • Implement and manage standardized business review processes.
  • Steer the long-term direction of Professional Services procurement and category management, aligning initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of procurement activities within relevant commodities (finance, legal, auditing, engineering consultancy).
  • Show understanding of supply markets for relevant commodities.
  • Exhibit proven leadership and influencing skills.
  • Work effectively with senior management and other stakeholders to support strategy and implementation.
  • Possess good analytical skills and the ability to lead remote teams.
  • Engage stakeholders across functions, regions, and sites.
  • Have project management capabilities and experience working cross-functionally.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo for benefits and opportunities.
  • Preferred industry experience in aerospace, banking, or financial consultancy.
