Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company in London is seeking a Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join the CAT E&A team. You will assess insured exposures across multiple perils, compute risk metrics for atmospheric perils, and present results to underwriters.

Growth in research and product development for indemnity and parametric solutions is encouraged. The role offers exposure to market catastrophe models, data analysis, and collaboration with a global team to inform underwriting decisions

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in meteorology, atmospheric science, natural or environmental sciences, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Utilize catastrophe models to evaluate accounts and support quotes for tropical cyclones, floods, wildfires, earthquakes, etc.
• Design parametric solutions (FastCAT) and convey modelling results to underwriting teams.
• Analyze diverse data sets (meteorological observations, claims, hazard models) to enhance internal risk models.
• Develop expertise in catastrophe modelling and data science techniques for risk understanding.
• Assist with research to design catastrophe models and help bring new products to market.
