Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support the Catastrophe Analytics team in providing catastrophe risk and exposure analyses for Miller Business Units.
• Contribute to the modelling, analysis, preparation and communication of catastrophe risk information in support of the placement and monitoring of insurance and reinsurance risks across the Lloyd’s, London and international markets.
• Work under the guidance of more experienced colleagues, develop practical knowledge of catastrophe modelling, exposure data management, insurance and reinsurance products, and relevant analytical techniques.
• Support the modelling and analysis of catastrophe exposure across a range of business streams, including Delegated Authorities, Property and Casualty, Marine, Energy and Construction, Portfolio Solutions and Reinsurance.
• Assist with investigations into the appropriateness and sensitivity of modelling assumptions, while maintaining Miller’s commercial position and relevant professional standards.
• Maintain robust documentation, data cleansing, data manipulation and peer review practices to ensure accuracy and relevance of model outputs and assumptions, clearly explaining any limitations of outputs.
• Communicate modelling process and results with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and through formal reports/presentations, to an excellent standard.
• Work with the team to build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy in work, with peer review and timely delivery of outputs.
• Develop technical knowledge of catastrophe modelling, exposure management, insurance and reinsurance products, catastrophe perils and relevant modelling platforms.
• Adhere to and meet Miller’s policies and procedures, training material, and controls, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
• Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market
