Job summary

Gallagher Re in London is seeking a Catastrophe Analyst to join our Specialty Catastrophe Analytics team. You’ll work on Marine & Energy, Terrorism, and other specialty lines for global accounts, developing innovative risk solutions.

You’ll apply catastrophe models to assess portfolios, analyze client data, and collaborate with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and actuaries. The role offers growth in a dynamic reinsurance environment and exposure to cutting-edge risk analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in a numerate or hazard-related subject.
• Experience in London or global insurance markets.
• Proficiency with catastrophe models such as RMS or AIR.
• Understanding of natural hazards and risk models.
• Creative, able to develop bespoke technical solutions.
• Strong IT skills, with programming experience (SQL, VBA, R).
• Ability to process and interpret data quickly.

Responsibilities

• Use catastrophe models to assess risk for client portfolios.
• Analyse client data and portfolio structures to create tailored risk solutions.
• Collaborate with clients, reinsurers, brokers, and actuaries on model interpretation and portfolio management.
• Develop and share new service offerings with internal and external partners.
• Provide real-time analysis of natural disasters and post-event support to clients.
• Stay updated on model revisions and evaluate their impact.
