Job summary

SpaMedica is recruiting an Optical Assistant for our Coventry Hospital cluster. The role supports optometrists in clinics, performs essential diagnostics, and helps run pre- and post-operative pathways while ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.

Based in Coventry with 37.5 hours across a 4-on-6 rota, you will work across multiple sites, using Medisoft and other systems to maintain safety, quality, and excellent patient care in a leading NHS cataract-focused provider.

Qualifications

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Assist in diagnostics examinations with optometrists.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics for patients.
• Proficient in managing diagnostic and theatre equipment daily.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in line with GPDR.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
• Work alongside optometrists in day-to-day clinics and diagnostics.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner and escort in busy theatre environment.
• Ensure equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Store all equipment correctly and follow policies.
