Job summary

Adjusting Appointments Limited seeks an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join the Casualty Liability Team. You will manage EL & PL and Property Damage claims, handling a full caseload and coordinating with insurers, policyholders and brokers to settle claims.

The role offers remote or hybrid working depending on location, with a 35-hour week and opportunities for career progression within a growing loss adjusting organisation.

Qualifications

• Liability/Casualty claims handling experience in EL & PL including Property Damage.
• Experience managing a caseload through to settlement.
• Ability to value an injury loss and handle defendant losses.

Responsibilities

• Handle predominantly EL & PL claims through to settlement.
• Manage dedicated caseload of Casualty claims and handling enquiries on indemnity, liability and quantum.
• Liaise with insurer, policyholder and broker.
• Investigate allocated claims, review evidence and determine liability.
• Refer to a field adjuster for site investigations when needed.
• Gather evidence and documentation, determine actions for resolution.
• Negotiate settlements where appropriate.
• Keep up to date with industry changes and participate in training.

Job description

A renowned National Loss Adjusting Organisation are now seeking an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join their specialist Casualty Liability Team.

• You will handle a variety of specialist Liability claims, predominantly EL & PL and Third-Party Property Damage losses.
• You will manage and be responsible for your own caseload of losses, being part of a dedicated team you will play a vital part of the business by providing an exceptional claims service to key clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Handle predominantly EL & PL claims through to settlement
• Manage your own dedicated caseload of Casualty claims and handling enquiries in relation to policy indemnity, legal liability and quantum
• Liaise with the Insurer, Policyholder and Broker
• Investigate allocated claims, looking at evidence and liaising with all relevant parties and determining liability
• Where appropriate refer to a field adjuster for site investigation to establish how the loss occurred
• Gather all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
• Determine appropriate action for resolution
• Negotiate settlement where appropriate
• Keep up to date with any technical changes within the industry and to your role which may involve participating in training programmes within the company

About you:

• Liability/Casualty Claims handling experience specifically EL & PL (Personal Injury) including Property Damage within the Loss Adjusting, Insurance or Legal Industry
• Experience of handling your caseload of claims through to settlement
• The ability to value an injury loss
• Experience of handling defendant losses
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Solid IT skills and be able to use multiple in-house systems
• Insurance Industry Qualifications or working towards desirable
