Job summary

Ribble Valley Borough Council in Clitheroe is seeking a Casual Amenity Cleansing Operative to keep roads, footpaths, verges and open spaces clean. You will pick up litter, sweep streets and empty bins as part of a small team at Salthill Depot.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence (B and B1) and knowledge of the local area is desirable. Hours are up to 37 per week with no guaranteed hours; interview date 2 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with categories B and B1.
• Experience in street cleansing or litter collection is beneficial.
• Knowledge of the Clitheroe area is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pick up litter and sweep streets.
• Empty litter bins and maintain cleanliness of streets and spaces.
• Utilise street cleansing equipment in line with safety policies.
