Job summary

Ribble Valley Borough Council is seeking a Casual Amenity Cleansing Operative to join the team at Salthill Depot in Clitheroe. The role involves litter collection, street sweeping and bin emptying to keep roads and open spaces clean, within a small crew.

A full UK driving licence (B and B1) is essential, with knowledge of the local area desirable. The position offers up to 37 hours per week to cover absences and annual leave, with a pay scale of £14.14 per hour plus a 12.07% allowance in lieu of

Casual Amenity Cleansing Operative

Reference: COM963

Pay: Scale 3, scp 7 - £14.14 per hour

Plus 12.07% allowance in lieu of holiday entitlement.

Hours: No guaranteed hours but up to 37 hours per week to help cover absences and annual leave.

Based in the Amenity Cleansing Section at the Council’s Salthill Depot in Clitheroe, you will be part of a small team, responsible for ensuring that roads, footpaths, verges and open spaces are kept clean.

Picking up litter, sweeping streets and emptying litter bins, you will utilise equipment consistent with Street Cleansing requirements and ensure that all activities comply with the Council’s Health and Safety policy.

A full UK driving licence is essential and must include categories B, and B1.

Knowledge of the area is desirable.

No guaranteed hours but up to 37 hours per week to help cover absences and annual leave.
