Job summary

Varndean School is seeking a casual catering assistant to start as soon as possible. The role includes basic food preparation, serving customers, cleaning and washing up in a school kitchen. A food safety Level 1 certificate is favourable but full training will be provided.

Salary scale 3, point 7 – £14.14 per hour; reporting to Catering Manager and Head Chef. This is a casual, on-site role within the school community.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Teamwork and collaboration in a school kitchen environment.
• Basic food preparation tasks such as baking cakes, making sandwiches and salads.
• Washing up and general cleaning duties to maintain hygiene standards.
