Job summary

Thomas Franks is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join our team at the Tavistock Independent School. The role covers breakfast, lunch and dinner service during term-time with a 49-week contract, in a 7-day operation and a 5-out-of-7 pattern.

You will help set up dining rooms, serve guests, maintain hygiene, assist with cleaning and restocking, and support catering functions as required. The role offers on-site work with benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment and serving customers.
• Ability to work as part of a team with a flexible attitude.
• Food hygiene awareness and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve clients during breakfast, lunch or dinner service.
• Set up dining room for service and assist during meals.
• Prepare food according to hygiene and safety standards.
• Keep kitchen and service areas clean and tidy to required standards.
• Restock stocks and assist with function catering as needed.
• Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment and store items properly.
• Complete cleaning/hygiene duties and support health and safety.
