Job summary

COOK in Cirencester is looking for friendly team members to join our Retail Team. You will welcome customers, help them plan meals, and ensure the shop is clean, well-stocked, and inviting.

No extensive experience required; training provided. This casual role offers pay per hour and scope to grow with a supportive, community-focused business that values people and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Offer remarkable service – the customer is always more important than anything else you are doing.
• Use your knowledge to help customers plan menus or advise on catering for occasions. Talk to customers about upcoming offers, products and promotions.
• We are a food business – make sure the shop always looks immaculate, clean and spotless, stock is replenished and rotated, and the freezers are full.
• Be a whizz on the till. Operate it efficiently and accurately.
• Understand the shop paperwork, necessary legal checks and their purpose.
• Open up the shop, close the shop and carry out end-of-day reconciliation.
• Check in deliveries and place orders, and assist with stock taking as required.
• Look smart, with apron and name badge on at all times.

Good to Have

If you are a foodie then great, but we will train you to know our products, including how and where they are made, and to understand what dishes suit which occasions.

Experience not necessary, but previous experience of working in retail or in a customer-facing role would be the icing on the cake.
