Job summary

Gregory Distribution is seeking a Class 1 Casual Driver based in Sandford. You will deliver alcohol across the UK, plan routes, and maintain high service standards while loading and securing goods. You will complete daily checks, stay in touch with the transport team, and participate in training sessions.

Job Description Class 1 Casual Driver

Location: Sandford

Shift: Casual / Zero Hours - no guaranteed work or fixed hours

About the Role

As a Class 1 Casual Driver, you will: Deliver alcoholic products from our customer sites to RDCs, retail outlets, and warehouse locations across the UK. Complete out-and-back delivery routes, planning journeys efficiently to ensure all deliveries are made on time. Provide a high standard of customer service, communicating professionally with customers both in person and over the phone. Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed. Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability. Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met. Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices. Rota is flexible and offered on a weekly basis, with drivers contacted in advance to confirm availability. This is a zero/casual hours arrangement to support peak periods, annual leave and unplanned absences.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 CE licence, ready to take on the open road with confidence. Possess a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card, ensuring you're always compliant and prepared. Competitive Salary: Hourly rate of £16.81ph. This includes holiday pay. Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at £21.29ph. You will receive an extra £2.75ph for any hours worked between 21:00hrs and 04:00hrs.

Shift Hours: Various shifts and start times available. Hours offered on a casual, as-required basis. No guaranteed or fixed weekly hours.
