Job summary

Gregory Group is hiring Casual Drivers to join our distribution team in Cullompton. You will deliver chilled and frozen goods on multi‑drop routes across the South and South West, using temperature‑controlled trailers, with shifts on a casual, as‑required basis.

Applicants must hold a UK Class 1 CE or Class 2 C licence, a valid DCPC Card, and a Digital Tachograph. The role offers competitive hourly rates (£19.05 base, £22.13 weekends, £2.75 night uplift) and a focus on safety and customer

Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence or a UK Class 2 C licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Previous experience delivering to convenience stores is advantageous, but not essential.
• A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously.
• The ability to work to tight schedules while maintaining high safety standards.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work independently when required.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning awareness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver chilled and frozen products on multi-drop radial routes across the South and South West, using a temperature‑controlled trailer.
• Carry out vehicle swaps as needed and undertake manual transhipping tasks using roll cages.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

About The Role

As a Casual Driver, you will:

• Competitive Salary: Hourly rate of £19.05 per hour. This includes holiday pay. For hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday, you will receive £22.13 per hour. This includes holiday pay. PLUS for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
