Job summary

Gregory Group in Bridgwater is seeking a Class 1 Shunter Driver on a casual basis. You will retrieve empty trailers, move loaded and empty loads between the trailer park and production areas, and support yard operations daily.

The role requires a UK Class 1 CE Licence, a valid DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card, and a commitment to customer service. Shifts run 18:00–06:00 with overtime available and a range of company benefits.

Qualifications

• UK Class 1 CE Licence is required.
• DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card required.
• Experience delivering to client sites is advantageous.

About The Role

• Retrieve empty trailers from the trailer park and position them as required.
• Transport loaded and empty tanks between the trailer park and production areas to support operational flow.
• Relocate loaded trailers from the loading bay to the designated trailer park area.
• Assist with general yard duties as needed to maintain site efficiency and safety.
• Conduct thorough daily vehicle safety inspections using the company-issued mobile device to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance.
• Maintain constant communication with the transport team, providing updates on your progress and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
• Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
