Job summary

Manpower is recruiting for a Casual Caretaker to join the on-site facilities team in Henley-On-Thames, Oxfordshire. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented environment with a hands-on, practical mindset.

Hours are 11:30am–6:30pm, Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours) and Friday (7 hours). Start date as early as next week. Free on-site parking and enhanced DBS check required for compliance.

Qualifications

• Practical, hands-on maintenance and caretaking experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible attitude.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Good communication and professional manner.
• Caretaking or facilities experience advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general caretaking, maintenance, and site management duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
• Support the opening and closing of the site, including alarm activation and deactivation on a rota basis.
• Respond to site-related issues raised by staff and assist with resolving maintenance concerns.
• Monitor and report health and safety issues across the site.
• Complete required monitoring records for site systems and installations.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all site users.
• Undertake general upkeep, maintenance, and minor repairs as required.
• Work collaboratively within the caretaking team while also demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Casual Caretaker to join their site team on a temporary basis, with an anticipated duration of 2-5 months. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, practical, and hands‑on individual who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑presented environment.
Location: On‑site
Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
Hours: 11:30am - 6:30pm
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours per day) and Friday (7 hours per day)
Start Date: As early as next week
Parking: Free parking available on site
Compliance: Enhanced DBS check required

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative facilities team, you will help maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, security, and health & safety are upheld at all times.
This role would suit someone with a practical mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the flexibility to support site operations as required.
