Job summary

Safetykleen in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to own a portfolio of around 600 active customer accounts, driving timely payments while protecting relationships and collaborating with Sales and Ops teams.

You will monitor ledger performance, resolve disputes, allocate payments, and maintain CRM notes, with a focus on risk spotting and proactive action. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and a structured bonus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in credit control.
• Confident communicator able to handle payment conversations professionally.
• Strong problem-solving skills to investigate causes, not just chase debt.
• Organised and resilient with ability to prioritise and follow through.
• Attention to detail and proficiency with systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own an account ledger and drive timely payments while maintaining relationships.
• Monitor ledger performance (DSO, aged debt, disputes) and take proactive action.
• Resolve billing queries across internal teams to remove blockers to payment.
• Process and allocate payments (card/cheque) accurately.
• Maintain clear notes and records in CRM and systems.
• Flag risks early and agree next steps with stakeholders and customers.
