Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a permanent Young Persons Caseworker to support young people affected by substance use, homelessness, and related challenges. You will conduct assessments, develop recovery plans, and coordinate care with partner agencies to empower positive outcomes.

Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you will manage a caseload, deliver evidence-based interventions, and collaborate with partners to ensure timely support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations – ideally those with issues related to substance use, domestic abuse, or homelessness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.

  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify client needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure service users receive the care they need.
  • Work proactively and flexibly to engage clients and meet service needs.
  • Ensure adherence to all processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with the clinical team to co-ordinate appropriate clinical interventions for clients.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join our Young Persons team on a permanent basis.

Who We Are

Working as part of Middlesbrough Council, our mutli-disciplinary team provides vital support to those experience problems related to substance use. Our mission is to empower our service users by offering comprehensive care, tailored interventions, and a pathway to recovery.

Purpose of the Role

As a Young Person Caseworker, you will support young people affected by substance use and related challenges, helping them to reduce harm, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you will manage a caseload, complete assessments and recovery plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time. This rewarding role requires flexibility, compassion, and a commitment to empowering young people to reach their full potential.
