Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is recruiting a Young Persons Caseworker to support young people affected by substance use. You will reduce harm, build resilience, and deliver recovery plans using trauma-informed, strengths-based methods.

The role requires managing a caseload, completing assessments, and coordinating with partner agencies to ensure timely, right-fit support for each young person.

  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify client needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to ensure service users receive the care they need.
  • Work proactively and flexibly to engage clients and meet service needs.
  • Ensure adherence to all processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with the clinical team to co-ordinate appropriate clinical interventions for clients.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caseworker to join our Young Persons team on a permanent basis.

Who We Are

Working as part of Middlesbrough Council, our mutli-disciplinary team provides vital support to those experience problems related to substance use. Our mission is to empower our service users by offering comprehensive care, tailored interventions, and a pathway to recovery.

Purpose of the Role

As a Young Person Caseworker, you will support young people affected by substance use and related challenges, helping them to reduce harm, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes. Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you will manage a caseload, complete assessments and recovery plans, deliver evidence-based interventions, and work closely with partner agencies to ensure young people receive the right support at the right time. This rewarding role requires flexibility, compassion, and a commitment to empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Please note that this role also requires a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle. You will also need to have business insurance in place prior to starting, if you do not already have this.
