Job summary

Fortem Solutions is recruiting for a Carpenter Multi on a full-time, permanent basis to join our Orbit Housing contract. The role covers Coventry, Nuneaton and surrounding areas, working in Repairs & Maintenance with tenants.

You will primarily work solo, supported by supervisors, with a company van and fuel card provided. We require a core trade in carpentry, plus basic skills in other trades, and the ability to work without supervision.

Qualifications

• Main trade is carpentry with basic skills in other trades.
• Able to work solo, without supervision.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable experience working within social housing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full carpentry repairs and basic plumbing in social housing properties.
• Advise Supervisor when other trades are required.
• Collaborate with other operatives to complete projects.
• Record and submit accurate data using relevant business systems/devices.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and client representatives.
• Arrange purchase of materials for planned and efficient works.
• Comply with safeguarding, H&S standards at all times.
• Use a PDA to update progress and completion information.

Here at Fortem Solutions we’re currently recruiting for a Carpenter Multi to join our Orbit Housing contract on a full time, permanent basis. This role would Coventry, Nuneaton and the surrounding areasThis role would be working in our Repairs & Maintenance team, working closely with local tenants to fix issues in their houses. We have a team of Planners in our head office who take calls from tenants and then plan your day out, making sure the houses you attend are in your patch and you have all the information you need before you get there. We’re looking for a Multi Trade, so although we’d expect your primary skill to be in Carpentry, we would need you to have basic skills in either Plumbing, Plastering, Tiling, Groundwork or Painting & Decorating and be able to undertake jobs without supervision. This would primarily be solo work, however you will be given a company van and fuel card and you’ll have Supervisors on hand should you need any help

The Client

Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. Duties & Responsibilities

• Completing full carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines.
• Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

What You Will Need

• Core Trade being Carpentry, but have at least basic skills in multiple other Trades
• Must be able to work solo, without supervision
• Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes
• Full UK driving licence
• Desirable Experience working within social housing
