Job summary

Fortem Solutions is recruiting a Plumber Multi to join our Orbit Housing contract across Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby, Leamington Spa and surrounding areas. You’ll work mainly solo in our Repairs & Maintenance team, with a company van and fuel card, supported by Supervisors when needed.

Core plumbing is essential, with basic skills in other trades, and a full UK driving licence. The role covers repairs in tenants’ homes and requires priority planning and great customer service.

Qualifications

• Core trade being Plumbing with basic skills in multiple other trades.
• Must be able to work solo without supervision.
• Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing repairs including Unvented Cylinders and other repairs.
• Work collaboratively with other operatives to complete projects.
• Record and submit accurate data using company systems and devices.
• Provide excellent customer service to tenants and client representatives.
• Arrange purchase of materials to deliver works efficiently.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Follow company road risk policies and procedures.
• Use a PDA smartphone to update progress and completion information.

Job description

Here at Fortem Solutions we’re currently recruiting for a Plumber Multi to join our Orbit Housing contract on a full time, permanent basis. This role would cover Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby, Leamington Spa and the surrounding areasThis role would be working in our Repairs & Maintenance team, working closely with local tenants to fix issues in their houses. We have a team of Planners in our head office who take calls from tenants and then plan your day out, making sure the houses you attend are in your patch and you have all the information you need before you get there. We’re looking for a Multi Trade, so although we’d expect your primary skill to be in Plumbing, we would need you to have basic skills in one or more of Carpentry, Plastering, Tiling, Groundwork or Painting & Decorating and be able to undertake jobs without supervision. This would primarily be solo work, however you will be given a company van and fuel card and you’ll have Supervisors on hand should you need any help

The Client

Fortem’s contract with Orbit Housing covers over 17,000 properties across Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Nuneaton, Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford. Duties & Responsibilities

• Using Plumbing knowledge of Unvented Cylinders and all plumbing repairs work whilst advising your Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required.
• Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects.
• Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices.
• Affording excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner.
• Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times.
• Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures
• Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential:

• Core Trade being Plumbing, but have at least basic skills in multiple other Trades
• Must be able to work solo, without supervision
• Must be able to use a tablet to receive jobs and create notes
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

• Experience working within social housing
