Sofitel Heathrow - Arora Group is seeking a skilled carpenter/joiner to maintain and restore woodwork across the hotel. The role focuses on doors, furniture and finishing tasks to uphold the property's high standards.

You will work closely with the Maintenance/Engineering team to ensure safety and quality while supporting operations with flexible hours as needed. The ideal candidate has experience in carpentry, joinery or furniture restoration and a keen eye for detail, able to work

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a carpenter, joiner, French polisher, or furniture restorer.
• Ability to work with different types of wood, veneers, laminates and finishes.
• Committed to delivering high finishing standards and quality presentation.

Responsabilités

• Carry out carpentry repairs, restoration and maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Repair and maintain doors, frames, architraves, skirting boards, furniture and other wooden fixtures.
• Carry out wood laminating, polishing, staining, varnishing, lacquering, waxing and other wood finishing tasks.
• Complete fire door maintenance tasks within required timescales.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop areas in clean, safe condition.
• Follow COSHH and health and safety procedures when using chemicals and finishes.
• Collaborate with Maintenance/Engineering team and other hotel departments.
• Report major defects and safety issues to the maintenance manager.
• The role may require flexibility around hotel operations, including evenings and weekends.

The Maintenance department is responsible for the care and upkeep of the entire building. Ensuring that all areas of the building are always in full working order. This team is also responsible for all aspects of proactive and preventative maintenance programmes. Guest care and service is at the forefront of all tasks undertaken

• Carry out carpentry repairs, restauration and maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Repair and maintain doors, Frames and architraves, skirting boards, furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, tables, and other wooden fixtures, replace fire doors intumescent seals.
• Carry out wood laminating, polishing, staining, varnishing, lacquering, waxing, and other wood-finishing tasks.
• Restore damaged or worn wooden furniture and surfaces to an acceptable hight standard, match existing colours, stains, and finishes as closely as possible.
• Complete fire doors planned and reactive maintenance tasks within required timescales.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
• Follow hotel health and safety procedures and COSHH requirements when using chemicals, paints, stains, and finishing products.
• Work closely with the Maintenance/Engineering team and other hotel departments.
• Ensure all completed work meets the hotel's hight quality and presentation standards.
• Report major defects, material requirements and potential safety issues to the maintenance manager.
• The role may require flexibility around the hotel operations, including evenings, weekends, or emergency tasks and repairs when required.
  Previous experience as a carpenter, joiner, French polisher, or furniture restorer.
• Ability to work with different types of wood/timber, veneers, laminates, and finishes.
