Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Carpenter in property maintenance or social housing.
• Carpentry/joinery qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong practical skills and high attention to detail.
• Experience carrying out repairs in occupied properties.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Full UK driving licence.
• DBS check and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance and void property works.
• Complete carpentry and joinery repairs: doors, frames, locks, skirting boards, architraves, flooring and kitchens.
• Assess defects and determine repairs or replacements.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and work efficiently.
• Complete repairs within timescales and company procedures.
• Provide professional service to residents.
• Maintain records, job sheets and materials information.
• Work safely and liaise with residents, supervisors and trades.
• Keep tools and vehicles clean, secure and maintained.

Salary: £22 per hour plus van & fuel

Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance and void property works
• Complete a wide range of carpentry and joinery repairs, including:
  • Doors, frames and locks
  • Skirting boards and architraves
  • Flooring and floorboards
  • Kitchens and units
  • Repairs to timber structures and fixtures
  • General carpentry and joinery works
• Assess defects and determine the appropriate repair or replacement
• Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Complete repairs within agreed timescales and in accordance with company procedures
• Provide a professional and respectful service to residents
• Maintain accurate records, job sheets and materials information
• Work safely and comply with all relevant health and safety requirements
• Liaise with supervisors, residents, colleagues and other trades as required
• Keep tools, equipment and vehicles clean, secure and well maintained

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Carpenter within property maintenance, social housing or a similar environment
• A recognised carpentry/joinery qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong practical skills and excellent attention to detail
• Experience carrying out responsive repairs in occupied properties
• A good understanding of health and safety requirements
• The ability to work independently and manage a daily workload effectively
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work
• A full UK driving licence
• A DBS check and relevant employment/background checks will be required for this position
