Job summary

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL1 area who are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive primary school team. You will support pupils with SEND, including SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, helping pupils engage with learning and build confidence.

You will work with teachers and families to meet individual needs, using positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable
• All applicants require appropriate qualifications and training for this role

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour throughout the school day
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support both in and outside the classroom
• Helping children to manage emotions, develop positive relationships and regulate their behaviour
• Using positive behaviour strategies and consistent boundaries to support pupils
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and families to meet individual needs
• Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
