Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL1 area seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. You will work with pupils with SEND, including SEMH needs and challenging behaviours to help them engage with learning.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help children manage emotions, develop relationships and independence, and work closely with teachers, SEN staff and families to meet individual needs in a calm, inclusive

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to school needs.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children while maintaining boundaries.

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in the OL1 area that are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join otheirsupportive primary school team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours. You will provide individual and small-group support, helping pupils to engage positively with learning, develop emotional regulation and build confidence and independence.

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour throughout the school day.
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support both in and outside the classroom.

We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, nurturing and consistent, with the ability to build positive relationships with children while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries. Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH or challenging behaviour is desirable, but we also welcome applicants who have the right attitude, commitment and willingness to learn.
